Rubber Garage Flooring
When it comes to rubber garage flooring you might
be surprised at what is in the material. If you're like
most people when they hear the word "rubber" they
instantly think of flexibility and cushion factor. Rubber
garage flooring is usually made out of polyporpylene or
pvc.
Polypropylene usually comes with a 10 year warranty and
pvc flooring comes with a 30 year warranty. Big difference
in many areas including price.
The benefits of any rubber garage flooring is the fact
that most of these tiles are interlocking which means your
garage will be completed quickly using rubber floor
tiles. Most of these products are easy to cut
but you do need to be careful when locking them together
because if you force it they will bend, twist or get deformed.

One thing you'll notice right off the bat is some rubber
floor tiles are 12 inch squares and others are 18"
squares and some are up to 19.5" squares. That
basically means you need to calculate cost per square feet
instead of price per tile. It's a big difference. Solid
rubber tiles are usually 1/4" thick and other tiles
will run thicker 3/8" because they are perforated,
but when all is said and done, contact or surface area might
be less.

The strength of a rubber garage flooring unit can be
quickly determined by taking a quick look. You'll find some
tiles that are perforated or hollow, versus a solid rubber
tile. The big difference here is the fact that solid rubber
floor tiles will not show tire wear paths and don't indent
under heavy loads. It's a noticable difference when you
look from a distance at your rubber garage flooring. Once
last noticable difference is the weight. Solid rubber garage
tiles usually weigh in at 4 lbs per tile while hollow or
perforated rubber tiles weight about a pound or less.
Those of you who live in snowy climates will appreciate
a garage floor covering that is solid and keeps the snow
melt off your garage floor and contains the mess in a confined
area.
Make sure the rubber tiles you purchase for your rubber
garage flooring is chip proof, puncture proof, stain proof,
crush proof and waterproof. Most all rubber floor tiles
are easy to clean and keep clean.
Some of the best rubber garage flooring will
be determined by the length of their warranty. The truth
of you get what you pay for does apply. However, you will
find happy customers for most of the tiles you see. Keep
in mind some of these folks wrote their reviews immediately
after installation. Try to find some reviews of people who
have owned their floors for a year or more to get a good
feel for that particular tile.
